[Cable] Potential FTTS workaround

Hi guys, I am one of those unfortunate people that lives in a condo. After checking with EBOX/Teksavvy, both said my condo has fiber and TPIA is not possible. Someone here previously suggested that I can sign up TPIA at a different address, and just use that registered modem at my place. (OK I know that's illegal, but let's forget about that for now) So that's what I have tried. I moved my parents' modem (EBOX) and connected to my condo's jack. That works with no problem. The catch is however I also have Rogers internet (but no other services) enabled currently in my unit. Thus my question is, if I call Rogers and cancel the internet service at my address, will this method (my parents' Ebox modem) continue to work? Will Rogers physically disconnect the cable which goes into my unit?
