[Cable] Haven't had service activated yet and it's already a headache

Ordered Ebox through a group deal on RFD for their 250 service, coming from Start. Expect everything to be taken care of and have service activated. Ebox days weeks ago they need the Req# from Start. I call Start, who cannot give me that number until the very day they process the cancellation to Rogers, which was decided with Ebox as May 5th. I talk to Ebox and they tell me, weeks ago, that I should put the cancellation on May 2nd to make the transfer doable to avoid issues, and that I may be without service for a few days. No problem. The Ebox CSR tells me I will not be charged a transfer fee coming from Start. Today I get a call from Ebox asking me for the requisition number from Start, which I already told the last CSR I couldn't get until May 2nd. Then the CSR tells me that Start is breaking the law as they need to provide the Req# by 11 days from the cancellation date and that EBox will need to push my installation date ahead another 11 days to get the number from Start, who will still tell me they cannot give that number because they don't get it from Rogers until the day they cancel. Which will automatically at this shitshow all over again. And then this CSR tells me I might have to open a new service and therefore incur the service fee. WTF?
