Modem issue - Technicolor TC4300 DS light flashing, slow speed - vCable

Hello, I've been on vCable with a Technicolor TC4300 modem on the 60/10 package since June 2017 with no problems. However, a few days ago I experienced very slow downstream speed of ~1.5 Mbps instead of my usually steady 60 Mbps. Upstream speed was fine at 10 Mbps. Upon examining the modem, I saw that the DS light, which is normally steady, was flashing slowly. All the other lights were normal (on steady). I called Ebox support and they had me reboot the modem which fixed the problem: after the reboot, speed was back to normal and the DS light was steady again. The support rep told me the signal levels look good. Today, I experienced the same issue again. Rebooting the modem fixed it again, but now I'm concerned there is some underlying problem here. I've never had to reboot the modem before in the 7 months I've had the service, and now I've had to reboot it twice in 4 days. The service has always been rock solid before. Rebooting the modem every few days is not a solution. Any ideas what could be causing this? A failing modem maybe? vCable signal issue? I wonder if this is somehow related to Videotron stopping support for DOCSIS 3.0 modems for packages > 60 Mbps (maybe shuffling QAMs around?) Of course, this had to happen on New Year's when Ebox support is closed, LOL! Thanks, cinergi
