I was on the phone with an EBOX customer service representative tonight. I inquired about the promotions I saw on a webpage. She told me that she does not recognize one of the promotions I mentioned from the promo page. I gave her the complete webpage address. She then told me that she saw the page exactly as I saw it.
She then put me on hold for 10 minutes, and when she returned, told me that she was discussing with “a supervisor”, and that that would take another minute or so. She returned to me 5 minutes later, telling me that her supervisor told her that the webpage I referenced is not theirs; that EBOX had nothing to do with it; that the webpage is fraudulent and not valid.
I told her that I don’t believe it’s a fraudulent webpage, as I see no advantage for anyone but EBOX to create a webpage like that, announcing EBOX promotions. The webpage has EBOX’s information, phone number, etc. She told me that her supervisor told her that EBOX had nothing to do with the webpage, and that she can do nothing further with regard to the webpage.
I found the webpage by doing a google search for ‘EBOX internet’ on my phone, and it was the first result, classified as an AD.
Here is the address of the webpage in question:
