Does eBox show appreciation for long term customers (anymore)?
I've been a customer for eBox for a long time; about 10 years.
After 10 years of being a customer and having referred multiple accounts (and even some referral that wasn't applied - but that's another issue), I decided to call eBox just recently (around the time eBox was purchased by Bell) to ask for some rebate on my current monthly plan as an appreciation. The rep wasn't hesitant to give me a small rebate on a legacy plan; back then (in February) it was ok since my speed was upgraded from 10mbps/350GB (which I had for 10 years) to the current speed of 30mbps/unlimited as well.
Fast forward to today, seeing the rates have changed on eBox's website and my current plan (with the rebate) is now more expensive than the currently outgoing offer for the same bandwidth ($45/month) I called in to see if anything can be done. Also the main reason I called was to follow-up on a request to move as well. To my surprise, the rep wasn't able to do much for me except give me a 50% OFF on the installation fee for the move request.
To sum it up, it would cost me less if I straightout cancel my account and open a new account for the new address. So $45/month with zero installation fees and zero modem rental fees as advertised on their website is less expensive than my 10 years account loyalty is... and they couldn't do anything. This is absurd, considering I've invested over $5K throughout 10 years into eBox's services and they can't even give me at $50 credit to cover the installation fees. The rep mentioned that she can't even give me a $1 rebate off the currently offered rate of $45/month.
Is this standard at eBox? Are we in a trend of cancelling and opening accounts after every years to get a deal now? Please share your loyalty stories or comment on what you think of my situation. eBox employees/executives you can PM me if you think you can do something for me.
