Next news coming up ! EBOX will move it's head office on June 1st 2016 into a 25 000 sqft mega project (3.5 x bigger than before). Totaling 7.5 M$ of investment this new project include a new private data center on the south shore that can host up to 2500 servers. This will allows EBOX to host video processing servers for the upcoming EBOX TV and host servers for customers with 24/7 independent access using magnetic card reader and security. The new facility is a candidate for LEED certification and is Eco-responsible. The new head office will help us answer to the growing demand for EBOX services. The office will be able to host up to 250 agents on a same shift (up to 500 employees when combined with night shift). With the recent CRTC decision to revisit tariff in 2016, we expect another burst in growth and new product launch. Although it is too early to speak, we will be ready to process massive amount of orders for rapid deployment. EBOX also launch 2 new wireless router on the market. The SmartRG SR400AC and the NetGear WNR3500L. The SmartRG SR400AC is our first router for cable customers. It is now on sale @ $139.95 or $3.95/month with no contract. The dual-band router is equip with Beamforming technology and burst speed at 1.9 Gbits (600 Mbits 802.11 N + 1300 Mbits 802.11 AC). At only $139.95 or $3.95/m, EBOX enable it's customers with top of the line wireless hardware where most routers in this category are sold around the $175-200 mark (AC1900).

Experiencing a lot of DSL spikes - terrible experience with Ebox

Hi Everyone, We've been using FTTN 10 (10/1), it worked great at our old apartment but we moved on December 1st and ever since it has been a nightmare. We experience hourly spikes in our service, on average we get (~2/0.2) for about 10-15 minutes every hour before it jumps back to its normal of (8.5/0.5). Ebox sent over a Bell tech to investigate. When he first checked out stats from the equipment outside the building, he saw a spike in upload so he replaced the equipment. Came up and everything seemed fine. He even spent an extra couple of minutes walking around the place with me testing Wifi to make sure the modem was in a good spot. He checked the wire from the CO to our apartment, apparently it's brand new (~less than a year old) and is quite short, he's certain that it isnt the cause of the issue. I should also mention that whenever we get a spike in service, we go directly to the modem to plug in via ethernet to confirm that it is not just wifi related. Ebox has offered to move us to Cable, they have offered a discount of 3$/ Month for 12 months or 30$ off the new modem. Let's keep in mind that I've been paying monthly for internet service I'm not really receiving, I work from home and find myself having to go to starbucks at least once a day. To answer your next question, yes Starbucks public wi-fi offers better speed and reliability than what we've gotten here with Ebox. I find this to be a lack of customer service on their part. I have gone out and spent money to purchase equipment that works just fine (they did a swap in January just in case the modem may have been the cause of the problem). Now I have to spend another large amount of money on equipment because they can't service me properly. I just want to be able to use the service without having to spend more money fixing the fact that they can't provide adequate service. If someone here can shed some light this would be great, I find this to be horrible customer service and hope that I'm an anomaly and that they don't treat everyone this way.

[Cable] Spike in latency and reduced speeds for the last 2 days

Did you guys make changes to peering or something? The last 2 days latency has been horrible and speeds (esp upload) have gone down. No, it's not the modem. :) vs a couple of weeks ago (as I don't test daily...):

High (and unstable) latency

So, I'm having some lag issues in my games since this morning (writing this on Monday night, just to be clear). I've tried multiple different games, all of them in different locations, same issue (one of them is even based in Europe, and even though this one usually obviously has a higher ping than the others, it still has a higher ping than usual). So it's not coming from the game servers. On US servers, my ping is usually around 30-40ms, now it's never under 120ms. On the Europe one, it's usually around 90ms, now if I'm at 150, it's "good". When I'm running a speed test on speedtest.net (yes, on Ebox's server), the ping used to be around 10ms, now it shows 34, but the speeds are fine. Strange thing is whenever I run a ping test (in Windows' command prompt, and at least 50 packets each time, to several different hosts), the highest is never higher than 15ms, with an average of 12ms, always with 0% packet loss. When running a traceroute, again to several different locations, it doesn't show anything wrong either. I have nothing anywhere running in the background while running these tests. I just don't get it. The tests - let aside the ping shown on speedtest.net - seem to confirm that the connection is working fine, but there obviously is something wrong, I can feel it in my games, since those are fast paced games (and the ping shown on the games' scoreboards also confirms this). But I'm positive it's not an issue with the game servers; I tried with multiple different online games (Rocket League, League of Legends, Smite, World of Warcraft, Diablo III, etc.), and the high and unstable latency is always present, no matter which game I play. Yes, of course I tried to run these tests and play the games while being connected directly to the modem, also tried three different computers (always connected to directly the modem), but the results are the same. And yes, I did power cycle my devices; this is not my first troubleshooting. I first thought it might be a temporary issue on Ebox's (or maybe even VTL's) network, but I think I wouldn't be the only one feeling it then. Is there anything going on that could explain this? Or is anyone else feeling this as well even though no one posted about it yet? I don't want to be that arrogant obnoxious guy who needs to get his issue fixed on the spot, theatening to cancel the service if it's not, or whatever, but it's starting to get on my nerves... Even though I'm not perfect and I could've missed something, somewhere, I'm pretty confident it's not coming from my end, according to the sh*tload of tests I kept running all day. Any help/information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Is the Price for Ebox Business Internet (in Quebec) Correct?

When I entered my address on the website I saw CABLE BASIC at 26.95 and BUSINESS BASIC 6 at 50.95. Is this correct? When I switched to Residential, I see the same CABLE BASIC at 26.95 but DSL BASIC 6 at 30.95. Are Ebox's business V-Cable plans the same price as residential?

[DSL] Problem getting Router and Modem to communicate

Hello all. I have an Asus Router (forgot the exact model number but pretty recent) and was set up with Bell Fibe. Everything was working and was able to have both wired and wireless internet at home. Yesterday Bell technician came to switch to EB. Put my Tp-link modem and was able to get internet access. When I try to add my router to the mix is where we have issues. When I run the quick setup wizard I enter my information and it just keeps timing out. Also as a side note, if I plug my laptop wired to the modem i can access the web interface no problem, if I plug the modem to Wireless router and try to go web interface of Modem I can't seem to access it. Any help is appreciated, both modem and router are on same subnet. I played with disabling DHCP on some of them.

[DSL] Modems offered by ebox

I'm considering signing up for your FTTN Extreme 25 service (if I don't stay with Teksavvy) and I have a few questions about the modems you offer. Your Website lists Modem 3.0. Who makes this modem and what is the model number? What type of warranty do you offer for modems? I couldn't find a dry loop fee on your site so I assume that you do not charge a dry loop fee. Is this correct? Are there any other monthly fees aside from the $45.95 price listed, which includes 350GB/month? Thanks. edit: I just noticed that the site does state "free dryloop".
